Commodities like gold, silver, copper, wheat, maize, crude oil etc. are the underlyings in a contract which can be traded in the open market on Commodity Exchanges. MCX and NCDEX are the two major commodity exhanges in India. MCX offers 73 and NCDEX offers 56 commodities for tading.
